High Court of Karnataka (Attara Kacheri)

The red one. Two storeys of Pompeiian-red brick and round columns on the Cubbon Park edge, built as the Eighteen Offices of the Mysore administration and now the state's High Court.

Worth seeing when you're there

A little history

Built in 1868 in neoclassical Greco-Roman style, the Attara Kacheri, the Eighteen Offices, housed the entire administrative machinery of Mysore state before it became the seat of justice. It is a working court: treat it as an exterior to admire, not a venue to visit.

Getting there, hours, cost

Enter Cubbon Park at the bandstand gate off Kasturba Road or walk down from Vidhana Soudha. The court itself is not a tourist venue; the view from the park is the point.
