About Deja Clue City

We make cities your playground.
We’re a small team of two from Bengaluru who love escape rooms, love travelling, and love discovering cities on foot.
So we combined the three.
Deja Clue City creates self-guided puzzle trails where the city itself becomes the game board — with stories shaped by each city’s personality, varied puzzles, a little local culture, and the freedom to explore at your own pace.
We started with Bengaluru because we believed our city had stories worth discovering — even for people who thought they already knew it.
It started with Bengaluru
The more we researched Bengaluru, the more surprised we became. Even as true-blue Bangaloreans, we discovered stories, details and connections about places we thought we knew well.
That became one of the things we loved most about creating our first trail: rediscovering our own city.
We wanted to create something that would make you look at familiar places a little differently — whether you’re a lifelong Bengalurean or visiting for the first time.
The city is part of the game
We don’t simply take the same puzzle and move it from one city to another.
Every trail gets its own story, personality and puzzle mix. We put a lot of thought into puzzle variety, so solving doesn’t become repetitive. Observation, deduction, patterns, words, numbers, history and the details around you can all become part of the challenge.
The narrative is shaped by the city too. We look for its character, history and local culture and weave some of that into the experience — without turning the trail into a history lesson.
Because we think the best puzzles are the ones that could only exist in that city.
Designed by travellers, for travellers
We’ve travelled enough to know that plans don’t always go according to plan.
You might discover a place you love and want to spend more time there. You might stop for lunch. The weather might change. Or you might simply decide you’ve had enough for the day.
So we don’t want you racing against the clock.
Our trails are deliberately flexible. Take them at your own pace, skip a stop, take a break, or spread the experience across two days or more.
And because we’ve also travelled enough to know that you already have plenty to carry, we don’t expect you to lug around an escape-room kit. The city itself provides most of what you need.
Something for everyone
We design our trails so children can be part of the experience too, with opportunities to observe, spot patterns, search for details and contribute to the team’s solutions.
For children who enjoy hands-on activities, we also provide optional printables and workbooks.
And if you’re curious about the places you’re exploring, we’ve included historical and cultural information about the stops too.
You can simply solve the clues — or pause and discover the story behind the place you’re standing in.
A team experience, not a headcount
Our trails are priced per team rather than per person.
We want families and friends to solve together without having to think twice about bringing one more person along.
More than just the trail
Our interactive maps also include nearby things to see, eat and do, so you can turn the trail into part of a bigger day out.
Why we do it
We’re trying to create the kind of experience we’d want to discover ourselves.
